What AI actually is
Artificial intelligence is a broad label for computer systems that perform tasks such as recognising speech, making predictions or generating text. Machine learning is one approach: instead of writing every rule by hand, developers train a model on examples. A chatbot is one kind of AI — not the whole field.
MAKE IT CONCRETE
Your spam filter classifies messages. A navigation app estimates traffic. A chatbot generates an answer. All can use AI, but they do different jobs.
Ask what the system does, not whether it is “intelligent.”
